The Star Sapphire was, and is, widely regarded as being as one of the finest of all Armstrong Siddeley motor cars but such quality inevitably required a large outlay. Autocar thought that it was a car with 'few equals even beyond its price range' but at £2646 the Armstrong was nearly £500 more costly - and more than 10mph slower.
